Meet Ken, CEC Director of Culinary Operations

A Certified Executive Chef with more than two decades of culinary experience, Ken Kehn has been a driving force behind the success of Primary Food Group since joining the team in 2005. Starting as a line cook on just his second day after graduating from college, Ken steadily advanced through the ranks, serving as Sous Chef, Executive Chef, and now Director of Culinary Operations.

Ken earned his Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts and Service Management from Paul Smith's College in 2005. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a passion for culinary excellence, competing in numerous American Culinary Federation competitions and earning four gold medals and four silver medals. In 2022, he was named the Northeast Regional Champion in the ACF Chef of the Year Competition, a testament to his dedication, skill, and leadership within the industry.

Beyond the kitchen, Ken has shared his knowledge with aspiring chefs as an Adjunct Faculty member at SUNY Schenectady County Community College since 2012, teaching Food Preparation I and II.

When he's not creating memorable dining experiences or curating special event menus and tastings, Ken enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, along with their three beloved cats. A devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox, he loves sharing trips to Fenway Park with his son, Dean. The Kehn family also cherishes time spent on the beaches of Cape Cod and attending games of the Cape Cod Baseball League each summer.

Known for his creativity, mentorship, and commitment to hospitality, Ken brings both passion and precision to every menu, event, and guest experience he helps create.
